Dear Governor Brown and Representative Gomberg. Fire Retardants: The New Threat to Us and our Seafood! I thought you would be interested in this story I found on MSN: A new drinking water crisis hits US military bases across the nation a.msn.com/01/en-us/AAEhcai?ocid=se Our clams are contaminated with high levels of this stuff. This is becoming a huge reason why to avoid exposing your family members to the consumption of Oregon’s Shellfish. The high levels of contaminates are the reason why we need an invertebrate species testing program. Recent test of Oregon’s clam show high levels of PFAS contamination in our rivers and bays. We need to know the level of contamination for each species of clams commonly dug from our coastal waters.. The State’s window of opportunity to take action is rapidly closing.
