Re: Filing a complaint against ATT-Direct TV
xxxxxxx xxxxxx Account no. xxxxxxxxxx
ATT/Direct TV tried to charge my account with unauthorized services for HBO movie channels after it was cancelled January 21, 2020.
When I noticed the attempted fraud I contacted ATT/Direct TV February 12, 2020 and requested my account be closed immediately and the service disconnected because of the fraudulent billing they attempted on my account.
I talked with ATT/Direct TV supervisor Darryl I.D. #DW6326 and he said they could not disconnect until
March date. Darryl said this was their policy. I never agreed or was given any notice that I would be billed for one month after a requested disconnect.
ATT/Direct TV can add or remove channels on the same day. In the past when I have moved I was able to have my service disconnected the same day. It is not believable that they cannot disconnect my account as requested.
ATT/Direct TV is attempting another fraud on my account and should be investigated and the practice of billing for unwanted services be stopped.
I should not held a hostage by these by criminals who attempted fraudulent charges on my account.
My account should not be billed beyond my requested disconnect. Their problems should not be my loss. I never signed any agreement or received any notice that would require me to pay beyond a requested disconnect of service. This is nothing more than price gouging and needs to be stopped to protect consumers from unfair trade practices.
Thank you for addressing my complaint and make my complaint part of public records.
Sincerely,
