The Manure spill splashes 300,000 gallons near Tillamook Bay has a familiar ring to it. When the Lincoln City Sewage plant spilled 2 million 100 thousand gallons of raw sewage into Siletz Bay the incident went unreported for nearly a week; therefore, the 2 million gallon of raw sewage. The City was not fined and there was no follow up testing on the marine organisms we harvest for consumption.
The point is the State is reluctant to fine polluters of our environment. The State also is reluctant to do any follow up testing of Shellfish to evaluate the level of contamination in the effected shellfish. No follow up testing.
The burning question remains, "Why are polluters not ordered to pay for follow up testing of marine organisms taken from the areas they pollute?"

My honest opinion is that every time a Representative of a State Agencies speaks they compound the problems created by Sewage Spills from comments that range from incompetence to outright lies.
