The situation in the Klamath Basin was set in motion more than a century ago, when the U.S. government began drawing water from a network of shallow lakes and marshlands and funneling it into the dry desert. Homesteads were offered land by lottery to grow hay, grain and potatoes and pastured cattle. The US Government and agency officials over allocated water that supports government treaty fisheries, ignoring tribal fishing and water rights.
Instead of water the tribes received more and more liquor stores. More liquor than water flows in the Klamath valley. How sweet is that? California has some of the highest taxes in the nation and lowest liquor taxes in the northwest. The California excise tax on liquor is $3.30 per gallon, lower than 78% of the other 50 states. It’s all done by design.
Million dollar question: Everyone knew in March that we were having another record drought why did all the farmers plant crops anyway? Were they willingly throwing their money away or something else? Farm subsidies are more likely the reason.
As a member of humanity, I cannot be silent about the current situation regarding our Native Americans struggles and broken promises. Poisoning people with cheap liquor, withholding water so the salmon die is a little to white for this white man to swallow. Divide and conquer, the American genocide continues…

Racism and is thriving in Oregon and so is the apartheid policy as practiced in South Africa.
south hit the nail on the head, so I added my thoughts...bill goggled Aptharthid. Showing results for apartheid Search instead for aparthid a·part·heid./əˈpärtˌ(h)āt,əˈpärtˌ(h)īt/ Learn to but no matter how it is pronounced in South Africa) the policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race is alive and thriving In the State of Oregon These natural resource policies and practices are designed to eliminate cultural heritage and tribal identity; such is the case of the dangerous lethal level of PCB contamination of all of the aquatic species common to the Columbia River basin including the iconic sturgeon; plus the theft of water in the Klamath River basin…
Conclusion: The State of Oregon along with the U.S Governmental agencies continue to engage in apartheid and genocide practices in their treatment Native Americans.
