On 09/10 Dustin reports that crabbing from the north shore of Siletz Bay is good with crabbers averaging 3 crabs per crabber.
On 09/02 Dustin reports that crabbing productivity has taken a giant leap forward as Dungeness crabs enter the mouth of Oregon's Bays to dine on the remains of the Chinook salmon taken by harbor seals as the Chinook cross the bar of the Siletz River Estuary.
On 08/19/15 crabbing productive from the north shore of Siletz Bay crabbing class declined when compared to the crabbing productivity over the last month. As far as I know only one legal mail crab was taken. Consider that crabbing productivity at our crabbing class of 08/05 was much better. Participants took 5, 3 and 2 legal crabs. The following morning a couple who had attended our class returned to the beach and took 17 Dungeness crabs. During our classes we love to see crabbers succeed and hopefully gain the knowledge that will help them take 17 crabs the next day out. The knowledge gained by participating in the class is reason for taking the class.
I believe over the period of the last 5 weeks we have caught the majority of the crabs. Bill

On 08/02/15 Crabber Dustin reports crabbing from the North Shore has improved with the catch averaging 5 per crabber
