The State Agencies responsible for managing salmonids are failures. Enclosed is a biological opinion (opinion) prepared by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) pursuant to section 7(a)(2) of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) on the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed approval of certain Oregon administrative rules related to revised water quality criteria for toxic pollutants. Enlarge the document to read the whole thing.

Oregon fisheries are in the death grip of hatcheries. In a few more years all the hatchery salmon will be midgets. Shrinking salmon is well documented. It only takes one cycle of hatchery life to make genetic changes in these fish. The grand hatchery plan is not working.
Clean up the rivers and keep the herbicides and pesticides out. Storm water is polluted and should be cleaned. Get rid of Class C & B sewer plants. Every sewer plant should be Class A. All cities should separate the storm water and sewers.
Quit using AG college science!
