Bonneville Chinook count total 04/15/2020 667 Adult Chinook (98% below 10 year average)
2001-2010 Ten Year Average 04/15 29,060 Adult Chinook
Why did Idaho and Tribes have to demand the current closure?
Are hatchery politics are killing off our fisheries? We are witnessing what happens when hatcheries keep putting out large numbers of smolts during down turn ocean conditions.....they all die from starvation.
Our fishery managers are a bunch of losers.
I contacted Alaska Fish and Game in Cordova and talked with their fishery biologist for Spring Chinook on the Copper River. He said they are 10% above the 10 year average. His comment on the Columbia River fish counts "that sounds scary."
