The State of Oregon lack of planning or any forethought whatsoever once again jeopardizes the safety of clam diggers and contributes to another massive sewage spill into the tidal area above the active softshell clam beds located adjacent to the Toledo Airport.
We at the Clam Diggers Association cannot recommend digging for clams in Oregon's coastal waters. The risk is too great because of the out of control pollution of our coastal waters from sewage spills!!!
The sewage spill demonstrates once again that the directors of the DEQ, ODA and ODFW deserve to be fired; but that would require Oregon's do nothing Governor to do something that she is not capable of doing.

We (the CDAO) support the ethical values associated with a productive, clean environment. Anything less is unacceptable. Politicians and governmental employees bear a greater burden of responsibility than the rest of us because they have the power and authority to make the difference. When they fail to do so, it degrades the quality of the environment and the recreational values that we hold dear to our hearts. Bill
